The volcanic scenery in Rabaul is like nothing I’ve ever seen before! We hiked up Mount Tavurvur at sunrise and the views over Simpson Harbour were incredible. The town itself is still recovering but everyone we met was friendly. Would have loved a few more restaurant choices, but the seafood was fresh and tasty.

Rabaul was one of the highlights of our PNG adventure. Diving in Simpson Harbour was an amazing experience – so many colorful fish and historic shipwrecks! The Mask Festival is something I'd recommend to anyone. Wish we could've stayed longer.
