We spent five days exploring the reefs and honestly, the snorkeling was the best I've ever experienced. San Miguel was easy to get around and very walkable. It did get crowded when cruise ships docked, but we just headed to the less busy east coast beaches. Highly recommend trying the fresh fish tacos.

Diving at Palancar Reef was top-notch, colorful coral and plenty of marine life. The town itself had great local places to eat, especially loved the laid-back bars along the waterfront. Only downside was the occasional seaweed, but it didn’t spoil the trip.
