I’ve wanted to see Persepolis since I was a student and it did not disappoint. We walked among the ruins for hours and our guide made the history come alive. Bring a hat and lots of water—the sun gets intense! Truly a highlight of my trip to Iran.

As an Iranian, finally making it to Persepolis was emotional for me. The details in the carvings are incredible. It can get busy with tour groups, but if you go early it feels almost private. A must for anyone interested in ancient history.

Absolutely fascinating—so much to see! The only downside was a lack of seating and shade, so I’d recommend coming prepared. Even so, the Hall of 100 Columns blew me away. Kids really loved climbing the wide stairs.

We did a day trip from Shiraz and it was worth every minute. Naqsh-e Rostam nearby is also spectacular, so try to see both on the same day. Our group ranged in age from 16 to 74 and everyone found something fascinating.
