Loved the mixture of modern malls and tradition you see everywhere in Manama. The Bahrain National Museum was fascinating, and we wandered the Manama Souq for hours. Cabs were affordable and everywhere. The only thing I didn’t love was the midday heat—so plan for early mornings or evenings.

Manama was such a welcoming city! The Al-Fateh Grand Mosque was absolutely beautiful and the guide there was super friendly. I felt safe walking around, even as a solo female traveler. Great food everywhere, especially fresh seafood at the Corniche.

The history in Manama is incredible. Bahrain Fort and the museum are must-visits, but I wish I had more time to see more galleries. The city is easy to navigate but gets crowded on weekends. Will definitely come back for the food.

Traveled with my kids and had a fantastic time. We especially enjoyed the Magic Planet arcade in the mall and evenings at Bahrain Bay. The only downer was traffic near the city center in the evenings. Otherwise, the people were genuinely warm and helpful.

Really liked the vibe in Manama—modern but there’s still a strong sense of heritage. Bab Al Bahrain is a lively area and the souqs are great for finding unique gifts. Try the Bahraini breakfast at a local café, you won’t regret it.

Interesting city with lots of contrast between old and new. It’s really hot in summer, though—I recommend coming between November and March. The seafood dishes were amazing. Wish public transport was a bit easier to figure out.

Manama is great for couples—romantic walks along the waterfront, fantastic dining, and lots of artsy spots to discover. We also did a quick tour of the forts outside the city. Only regret was not staying a bit longer to relax and unwind more.
