Split was even more amazing than I hoped. Walking through Diocletian's Palace felt like traveling back in time. The Riva at sunset is magical, but it does get crowded in the evenings. The beaches were fun, although a bit busy in peak season.

We traveled with our two teens and everyone found something to love, from the history to the nightlife. Marjan Hill was our favorite spot for afternoon hikes and city views. Kids loved swimming at Bačvice Beach. Highly recommend the fresh seafood!

Being on a family trip, we appreciated how easy it was to walk everywhere with kids. The Palace substructures kept the children intrigued even when it was hot outside. Just expect some crowds if you're visiting in high season.

The nightlife was vibrant and we made friends from everywhere. Beach bars were fun and surprisingly family-friendly during the day. The central area can get noisy late at night, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.
