Zell am See was absolutely beautiful in early summer. We hiked up Schmittenhöhe and were rewarded with spectacular views and wildflowers everywhere. The water in the lake was chilly but incredibly clear. Loved wandering the small streets in the evenings.

Spent a week skiing with friends and had a blast. The slopes are well-maintained and getting around was easy with the CityXpress cable car. It got crowded during the holiday weekend, so I’d recommend booking lessons ahead of time.

We came for the hiking and stayed longer than planned. The trails around the lake are manageable for all ages, though some are steeper than they look on the map! Our hotel had a great view and the local restaurants did not disappoint.
