We spent five days in Tamarindo and absolutely loved the laid-back vibe. Surf lessons were a highlight for our teens, and the taco truck near the beach was the best surprise. Nights can get a little loud near the main street, but it never felt unsafe. Would go back for sure, maybe in the off-season next time.

The surfing here is amazing, even if you’re a beginner like me. Loved paddling through the estuary and spotting crocodiles and monkeys. It’s touristy, but I still met plenty of locals and found quieter spots like Playa Langosta just down the road.

Tamarindo was beautiful but more crowded than I expected. The sunsets every night were spectacular, and the seafood at Dragonfly Bar was a favorite. Pricey compared to other towns in Costa Rica but tons of activities.

Incredible beaches, super friendly people, and plenty of tours to choose from. My girlfriend and I loved the night market and even joined a beach yoga class. No car needed—everything was walkable from our hotel.

Great spot for families. Our kids loved seeing monkeys at the Monkey Park Sanctuary and building sandcastles at Playa Grande. Ate lots of gelato and fresh fruit. Only issue was some mosquitos in the evenings—bring repellent.
