Jacó was so much fun! I came for the surf and wasn’t disappointed—there were waves for all skill levels. My only gripe was how busy the main strip gets at night, but I loved the energy. Definitely recommend renting a bike to get around.

We spent our anniversary in Jacó and it was exactly what we hoped for. The sunsets over the beach are amazing and our horseback ride along the shore was a highlight. Local food was delicious, especially the ceviche at the beachfront spots.

Colorful town with a lively vibe and so many different activities. Zip-lining through the rainforest was a blast. The beach can get crowded but it's easy to find a quiet spot if you go early morning.

Our kids loved the crocodile tour, and we even spotted scarlet macaws in Carara National Park. Stayed in a family-run hotel right near the beach—so convenient and friendly. Food was fresh and affordable. We'll be back!

Good place for both partying and relaxing. The nightlife surprised me—lots of bars and live music. I wish the town beach had a bit more shade, but Playa Hermosa was a short taxi away and had fewer people.

It was my first time surfing and the instructors were super patient. I also tried a yoga class at sunrise, which was magical. The loud clubs aren’t my thing but didn’t bother me staying a few blocks off the main strip.

Perfect spot for solo travelers! I made friends easily at my hostel and joined group hikes into the rainforest. Safe and easy to get around, plus the fried plantains from a beach vendor were unreal.

Loved wandering Jacó Walk in the evenings—the open-air plaza has food stalls and live bands. Be careful with belongings on the beach at sunset though, I saw someone lose a backpack. Amazing fish tacos everywhere.

Came for a quick surf trip with my buddies and ended up staying a couple extra days. Waves were awesome and the whole place is really relaxed. Wouldn't stay right on the main road if you're looking for quiet nights.

Jacó’s street art is everywhere—makes little walks through town interesting. My partner and I tried a romantic sunset dinner on the beach, which was totally worth it. Next time, we’ll get out to more of the smaller beaches.

Sunsets in Jacó are unreal, and the El Miro lookout gave me the best photos from my trip. I found lots of vegetarian food options, which was a nice surprise. The town was a bit noisy at night, so light sleepers should pack earplugs.

Playa Hermosa is the real deal for surfers, and it’s only 10 minutes from Jacó by taxi. Evenings in town are fun with lots of music and people from everywhere. It rained once but the rain never lasts long.
