Stayed two nights before heading on safari. Entebbe is friendly and easy to get around. The sunset cruise on Lake Victoria was beautiful. Some beaches were a bit crowded on the weekend but still lovely spots for relaxing.

Mabamba Swamp was incredible for birding—I finally saw the Shoebill. Took a boat to Ngamba Island and loved seeing the rescued chimps in a natural setting. Some things are a bit pricey but totally worth it for the experience.

The chimpanzee sanctuary on Ngamba Island was unforgettable—boat ride was smooth and guides were knowledgeable. I’d suggest staying at least two nights to make the most of what’s on offer. Try the grilled fish at the golf club!

Birdwatching at Mabamba Swamp is a must—even if you’re not a hardcore bird enthusiast! The guides are excellent and full of stories. The little cafés by the shore served great coffee. It’s easy to forget you’re so close to the airport.

Loved the open gardens and the breeze from Lake Victoria! I took so many photos, especially at sunset. Staff at our hotel were incredibly helpful. Take a raincoat if you come in the rainy season—you never know when showers will start.
