Trekking through the rainforest in search of gorillas was tougher than I expected, but seeing a family up close was unbelievable. The guides were patient and really knew their stuff. My boots got wrecked in the mud, so come prepared! Stayed in Buhoma which was quiet and super friendly.

Hands down the highlight of my trip to Uganda! Spotted two silverbacks and their group, and the trackers were incredible at finding them. Stayed at a lodge with amazing views over the forest canopy. Food was basic but fresh—don't expect much nightlife, but the stargazing was epic.
