Kigali’s Genocide Memorial opened my eyes and the guides were very thoughtful. Markets are lively and people very kind. Wish public buses were easier to navigate, but moto-taxis work just fine.

Beautiful hills all around and very green city! The Kigali Convention Centre really stands out at night, and I felt very safe walking alone in the evenings. Remember to bargain gently at the markets.

Sightseeing around Kigali is very manageable and the public spaces are spotless. Some attractions were quite busy on weekends, but overall, it’s a fantastic introduction to Rwanda.
